485 pending on Principal, but pricipal already approved.

Hi Guys,

My 485 got approved on Dec 15 2008. Since my wife didn't get any news about her in a week, we opened a query by calling USCIS... Surprisingly we received a reply in a week and the letter said:

"based on principals status, your application is pending"

Its confusing since I'm the principal applicant and I already got approved.

I was wondering if anyone else has received a similar reply?

I am in the similar situation. I, who is the principal applicant, have received the Green card but my spouse didn't. When we submitted a service request, we got a letter with the same information.

I was wondering what happened to your case?

Take infopass appointment and show them the letter you got from USCIS and your original Welcome Notice letter/485 approval. And explain the situation. Looks like they approved the case but did not change the status from pending to approved. And whoever sent the letter, was just checking the status in database. It happens sometime, that case is approved but status in the database is pending.
 
Any update on the two cases posted here. I am in the same situation. I am the priciple applicant and got my GC approval almost 3 years back. My wife whose application was jointly filed, till date has not received her approval. Visited local office with Infopass appointments a few times, called the service center a few times and none of these yeilded any results. To our bad luck a month or two after my GC was approved, the priority dates were moved back to a few years and her application got cought in the retrogression. EB3, India, PD July 2002.
 
EB3 - PD JAN 2003, RD 485 NOV 2004, RFE AUG 2006..still pending

We have same situation. I got my GC Approved in Jun 2007 and so as my kids (2). My wife 485 AD still pending.. received RFE in Sep 2006 but due to badluck we missed the RFE due to several factors.. Doctor made silly mistake of checking Xray not done box on application and attached X-Ray reports, USCIS sent RFE and it was undeliverable 2 times of each 45 days gap due to Lawyers office address change and not updated at USCIS. Finally figured the mistakes and received RFE and USCIS recd. but only after the dates went back. Lot of SR's, Info passes, FP's.. renewing EAD's, Advance Parolls etc..
Back home in-laws suspecting some foul play..why their daughter did not receive GC after even after 3 years....haha..
