485 Pending Applied for EAD

Hi,
I have my 485 pending while my H1 is expiring in October. So my company has applied for EAD. It was applied in the first week of August and the notice date is Aug.7 . I would like to know whether it is legal to work after the H1 expires as I have applied for EAD.

We have given our second FP also last week.

Your opinions needed.

You will get the approval before that,, its taking just a bit over a month for EAD's. But surely it is illegal to work after your H1b expiration/EAD expiration. Doesn't matter if your application is pending
