485 --Out of status question

Couple of years before I was out of status for 17 days:

-- On May 12th I applied for H1B with a start date of September, 13th.
-- My EAD on F1 visa expired on September 13th.

However my H1B got approved with a start date of October 1st. This is due to the fact that H1B quota was met for that fiscial year.

Can this create any problems with my 485? How about CP?

Any information on this matter would be extremely helpful!

Consult an Attorney. May be 245(i) will help you with a penalty of $1000. But hurry. Hope you need to apply before 4/30/01.

you will be fine since you have at least 60 days grace period after F1-OPT. It is always INS\'s policy that you will be considered in status as long as you filed it before your EAD expires.
