485 files are sent to you or your lawyer

I heard that all the 485 files (receipt, finger print notice, approval notice, RFE) are sent to you (original) and your lawyer only gets the courtesy copy. Is that true?
I just filed 485 and am facing a layoff. My lawyer said that he cannot continue the process for me. What should I do?

The originals of any communication are sent to the lawyer, with the exception of EAD Card and AP approval. Good luck!
