485 Denial What Next!

Hi All, I was just pondering what happens if your 485 is denied and you are on H1 status ??

Case:
my h1 is valid until 06 & i have an interview date schd. for I-485 god knows for what??? 140 was approved last year 9/04...If 485 is refused whats next for me? pack bag and head back to India or ....?

Be optimistic man .... Did you move from the jurisdiction where case was filed originally?... many a times they send the case to local office and interview (ie regular stuff asked) in such a scenario. What reason do you think you have to expect the worst???

If the file is transfred to local office then Local CIS office will send a list of documents you you and your lawyer. generaly you will need recent letter of employer, w-2 for 3 years, Tax filing papers for lat 3 years, all EAD AP and recent I-94, marriage certificate, birth certificate, Passport, 2 passport style photographs and they need COPY of everything and will see the orignal
