485 delays...action needed

I think all those who have never contacted any congressman ever should do so at least once. Esp people with cases pending for 600 days or more.

I myself am doing so within the next few days.

kjkool : Late 2002/2003 filers can start hitting the senator/congreman emails by saying how concerned you are with the current backlogs.

Everyone can also point out that president bush had mentioned once to reduce a regular application time to @ 6 months.

Fine, will do that.
Once the guys on VSC Board finalize that letter to Mr. Khatri, I'll use some of its text to write my own.

Jay has a good point - congressmen should be reminded of Bush's goal to adjudicate 485's in 6 months. The closest we got to that was 10-11 months somtime during the first half of 2002. If we don't sufficiently bug these folks, things are not going to drastically improve...we got to remember the old adage - crying child gets milk! Look at how cancer research funds are allocated in this country. Though prostate cancer is more wide spead and deadly, breast cancer research gets more funds since the women's lobby is more vocal.

Taking this thought a step further ...

Frodo and others ..

Lets also post on this thread our experiences when we contacted Senators / Congressmen ..

Any one in the Southern Ohio area , let me know , we can contact the senators together.

Good point maverick. Yes, lets start posting info on our calls to senators.

I am currently in Florida (geez, this is my third state since my I485 started). Will definitely post my calls to the senators on this board.

The adjudication process used to take 90 days in the good old days. Even if it can’t be done in 90 days, two years is totally unreasonable. 6 months is more reasonable but it will take a very strong willingness on the government’s parts. Unfortunately the government seriously lacks that willingness to make necessary changes. I don’t think there is any effective way of getting out of this deep whole soon.
