485 Approved!

Checked AVM yesterday night and my 485
has been approved. Here are the details:

PD Jan 14 1998
485 RD 03/04/2001
485 ND 03/27/2001
WAC-01-142-xxxxx
FP scheduled 10/19/2001
but I did it 2 months ahead of schedule and my wife
did FP about a month ahead of schedule.

As per AVM, our 485 approval date it Nov 7th. Hope we will
receive the approval notice in 2 weeks.

It has been a long wait for us and it took about 3 years
and 10 months for the whole GC process.

I am not in Ciba\'s list but I have been posting my info
and frequent visitor to this forum. Every time I see an
approval in the forum and in Ciba\'s list, my confidence
level will go up a step. Thanks to Ciba and others who are
of great help.

Last, I think doing FP ahead of schedule is not a problem
but it may be of much help. Though I did well ahead of
schedule, guess the INS opened my case only after
the scheduled FP date or atleast the approval is
after the scheduled FP date. The same thing happened
to couple of my collegues here as well.

I just showed up in the San Jose ASC office and
the person at the gate looked at the
scheduled date but did not say anything. Also
I asked the person inside is it ok to do the FP
ahead of schedule but she did not say anything
but accepted my application form. So there was no
problem for me doing FP ahead of schedule. Please
note that I did my FP sometime in Aug. 2001

BTW I went on a saturday around 2 PM and absolutely
there was nobody waiting in the line.
