Received USCIS email this morning, update on case status info - my 485 case was approved on 4/18/2006.
The GC process came a long way for me. Finally made it after 5 years in the pipeline. Below is the abstract version of the story:
GC started: 7/2001
EB2 PD: 12/2001
RIR Labor Approval: 10/2003
140/485 concurrent filing: 12/2003
1st FP (code 1): 6/2004
140 Approval: 3/2005
2nd FP (code 2): 5/2005
3rd FP (code 1): 10/2005
Status Inquiry:
1st filed by attorney 8/2005, impacted by retrogression in 10/2005. No response.
2nd filed after PD current in 1/2006.
Contacted senators, and Name check cleared off 2/2006.
Contacted district office, found out the PD on 485 case was messed up, corrected on 3/2006.
RFE on 3/28/06. Reply received on 4/11. LUD changed on 4/12, 4/13.
Status changed to "Welcome Notice" on 4/18.
Status chagned to "Case Approved" on 4/19, the actual approval data is 4/18.
Have been with this forum for the last 3 yrs, experienced the emotional ups and downs - the expectation, frustration, anxiety, anger, hopelessness, struggle, persistency and drive, though staying quiet for most of the time.
Thanks to many folks here, for sharing info, giving mutual support, especially those old timers - you are my invisible buddies, your experiences and approvals are the hope and force keeping me strong. This fond memory will stay with me for years to come.
May my story inspire people still in the process, giving the hope and force. If I have to put it in one sentence, that would be: Be pro-active and drive your case all the way to approval. I learned this the hard way.
