Today(12/12) VSC AVM says "This case is approved" for me and my wife. I have been spending atleast an hour daily on this website. Its very informative and help so is Myladoor\'s immitracker and isn.org. Special thanks to Mr. khanna for maintaining this wonderful site.

I started my application in EB3 and changed to EB2.

PD Oct 10th 1997
Details: EB3
LCA applied on 10th Oct 1997 approved on March 30 1998
I140 applied on June 17 1998 approved on Aug 3rd 1998
I485 RD 23rd Aug 1999, ND 14th Spe 1999, FP Aug 08th 2000, AD Dec 12th 2000

EB2 details:
LCA applied on 4th Jan 1999 approved on July 13 1999
I140 applied on July 30 1999 approved on Dec 23rd 1999
Amended I140 and other documents sent to INS on Jan 2000 to change the
catagory from EB3 to EB2.

I will post my stamping experience later. Now I am waiting for the approval notice.

I will be monitoring this site for next couple weeks to answer the questions should you have.

Hang in there, you will get it. i know its painful.

And one more thing. I had called INS on last friday(12/8/00) and IIO said it will a month before an officer takes up the case for review. Altogether i might have called INS 20 times so far, that is after aug2000.

One Question. How to change from EB3 to EB2 and use the priority date. Did you change the employer? Please enlighten. Thanks in advance.

No, I did not change employer. I got promotion end of 1998 and had 5+ experience by then. I asked my attorney to apply in EB2 cat by redoing LC and i140. Then sent amended i140 approval notice and supporting letter requesting the earlier PD to INS to replace old i140. That worked.

I am in the same boat like you changing from cat-3 to cat-2.
we have sent a letter to INS(with new I140) some time last oct\'2000.
still no reply.My cat-3 Priority date 1998 May.
Pl. give me some info.
1.should I wait some more time or call them frequently..
2.Did u get any REF or queries?

Well, You need to give me your RD/ND/FP dates of I485. Then I can give you some info effectively. Now INS is processing late aug and early Sep cases. And it is of no use calling INS, they never give out right information, atleast they did not in my case. U can call them to make sure they have your latest i140. THats it.

Also is it good to have my attorney office call INS to verify
about new I140 amended or do it by myself ! I mean as far as INS is concerned.

Well, My attorney had sent amendment documents in Jan 1999 and then just for the heck of it, i called INS and they couldn\'t find my second I140. IIO(lady officer) then went back to my i140 application approved it again and attahced it to i485. After that i called once again just to make sure everything is fine, just for the reason all IIO\'s are not consistant on answering. My attorney did not call and he doesn\'t like to call INS all the time. He thinks a call to INS slows the processing down, which is correct.
