Receipt Number: EAC041985XXXX

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On April 5, 2005, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready.

I got my 485 approved yesterday. :) I am excited. Please my detials below
EB3/IND/Lab Sub PD:04/2001
I140 ND:06/24/04 AD:03/08/05
I485 ND:06/24/04 AD:04/05/05
FP Done: 03/03/05

I don't have to go for PP Stamping :cool:

Congratulations Freedom4all. I have a question. Is it possible to get a Card without it being stamped in the passport first?

For EB2 and above, cards are issued without going to USCIS centers.
If USCIS requires more info, then interview is called upon.
I remeber there is a document (PDF) of this kind on USCIS-web.

Why do they call for interview if 485 is approved and they advised to go for stamping to order the cards? Do you have the link to the PDF file.

Thank for the wishes!! Have you received your GC Plastic Card yet? How long the wait would be? I am going to India next month(May) first week. If I get my card before then I don't required any transit visa correct??

You should get the card in two weeks. And yes - you do not need transit visa once you have the card.

If you hold Indian passport, many places like Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia etc will give you visa at port of entry itself.

Here is one example.
An APPROVAL is one thing and CARD ORDER is second.
My consulting company's guy went last thursday of april 05, Wlanut st, Newark (USCIS) for interview (dependent's evidences). Yesterday (04/05/05) message changed CARD ORDERED.
By the way No Stamping On Passport done on interview day.
I am expecting the same for me any time in future, if any thing I forgot and USCIS requires at the time of CARD ORDER.
I think I saw somewhere here as well, unfortunately I forgot the link.

I dont think they will schedule an interview after your 485 approval, your friend's 485 may be pending and USCIS might have called him for an interview.

I just got my emails about 485 approval..
But My email doesnot say anything about card ordered anything
I am just waiting for approval notices ..
Is that true that EB3 cases has to go for stamping and EB2 not ???
By this time you might have received your approval notices right
what they say?
FYI- i recently completed Code3 Biometix.. So i am under the impression that i will also get the the card orderd email..
But no

Congratulations!! Mine is EB2, FP code:3 and I received my approval in 4 days and it is metioned that I need to make an appointment through Infopass for PP stamping in local office and the local office will order the cards.

This is called post approval interview/stamping using InfoPass for EB2, if your message does not change after InfoPass Apointment, you have to take all your documents. It could be waved any time by USCIS.
EB3 has to go in both cases.

So i guess i dont need to go for stamping

You are done, you will be receiving your plastic card next 2-4 week.
Now USCIS really doing great to reduce and save time. If necessary they can call anybody for post apporval stamping. Why is that?, USCIS knows it.
