I have been referring to the posts on this forum on a minute by minute basis, over the last couple of months and learnt a lot, guess I am all set to quit my job after getting my 485 approved, and becoming a Paralegal for Mr.Khanna :)

So friends my wife and I got our 485 approved after all the denials and RFE's - got the approval mail last night, it was a 8 year long journey for me, I now wonder if it was all worth it !!!! :rolleyes:

Wanted to share the news with all you good people, and sincerely wish you all the best, may you all get your approvals soon.

I will be fixing my Infopass appointment soon, just waiting to get done with this process and not think of USCIS for the next 5 years. All this unwanted stress for leaving my country. :rolleyes:

What is your priority date and when did you do fp. Can you tell me on your application progress and online status changes after fp.

I am still waiting for online status change after fp done during april.

COngratulations Akx!!!! may be you should have bought one lottery ticket that day of your approval. Who knows that being lucky day anything could have happened.

Whats the 3 months wait ????? I am not aware of that !

Gcamirage - infact I bought some Lottery tickets last week, didnt get a chance to check the status on those :rolleyes: . Will post the results of that once I do.

My PD was Jan 2002
I did my FP on April 22nd (CODE 3 - Biometrics), and there was a LUD change for both myself and spouse on 23rd April, but the message didn't change.
I feel codes 2 or 3 dont really make any difference. I went for code3 FP, they took our fingerprints and picture, my colleague went for code2, he only gave Fingerprints, but eventually we had to carry the same documents while going for Stamping of passport, I had to carry our pictures again, despite they taking one during our FP. I guess you just do what they ask you to and get done with it.

Since then there was no LUD change till May 3rd when the status on my wife's 485 changed to RFE sent (prove Legal status). My LUD changed next on 15 May, saying 485 Approved. Spouse RFE response sent out and got approval for her case within 10 Days from date of receipt of Response by USCIS. The whole process took 6 months for me to get my Green Card approved from the date of filing 140 / 485 in December using a Labor Substitute.

I did not use or approach any congressman or senator, throughout this process.


We got our Passports stamped today, at the local CIS center.

I didnt do any of that calling to Senators or congressman. I did call USCIS Texas center once or twice but that was also of no use, I spoke to the customer rep there both times and they gave me my status same as shown online -they asked me to hang-in there, so I did. HUNG REAL LONG. :)
