485 approved, no GC card & no 551 stamp, can I still travel?

Hi Guys,

I just received my 485 approval & welcome notice. I have a trip planned to India in the third week of April. Will it be ok to travel ok Advance Parole after 485 was approved. I have advance parole and my H1 is still valid (it expires at the end of may though).

Really appreciate your help.
 
it's ok to use your AP.

but i think you should wait for your GC ,usually,it comes few days late after you got your WL. be patient!!!
 
If you your Green Card has been approved, your H-1B is no longer valid. I don't believe that the AP is valid any more either. If you've got the welcome notice, you should wait for the Green Card, it will most likely come in a the next week or so. Tight, but you should be OK.

At the worse case, you shoule make an infopass appointment to get a I-551 stamp.

Thanks for the reply dr_lha. Looks like I will have to make an infopass appointment and try to get a 551 stamp.

Regarding my other thread, Thanks for replying to that too. I am not sure what kind of reply I was expecting. You do bring-up a good point that my H1 and AP are not valid any more; I wasn't thinking in that direction. Looks like I shouldn't travel without the GC card or the 551 stamp.
 
No problem. Infopass is probably your best bet, although your GC should show up pretty soon.
