485 Approved -> Fingerprint Notice = Weird?

Hi Friends,

My brother's 485 app was approved per info below. He received email and notice in mail

NSC
EB3
RD June 2004
FP July 2004
ND April 2005
I-797 Notice of Action states Card Facility will mail the new card in 120 days.

Today he received a FP Notice for biometrics and it states this is for 485 application. Kinda weird. It also states to ignore biometric notice if app has been approved.

Should he appear for pp stamping (no directions given for this on Notice) or biometrics, FP?

Anyone with same experience or knowledge please advise.

As usual, employer's lawyers are AWOL even though he tried calling and emailing them.

Thanks!

Same here

we got our I-797 two weeks back and it says approved
We got our I-797C today , says they need Biometrics information also
says
DISREGARD THIS NOTICE IF YOUR APPLICATION HAS ALREADY BEEN GRANTED ......I GUESS , WE SHOULD DISREGRAD THIS

Reply to Villager and Shamal

Hi!

Villager - Did you go for PP stamping? My bro did not and is waiting for lawyers to contact...

Shamal - This was NOT a concurrent filing.

Thanks!

We are going for PP stamping (got a infopass appointment for next week)... From this great Forum I understand that Local office can do Biometrics .

Our online status is not changed ..Still says this case approved.

I was in the same situation. My lawyer told me to check with ASC if they want to take prints in spite of approved 485 and completing passport stamping.

I went to the ASC and they took my fingerprints though I told them my 485 is approved. Next day after fingerprints, I got the "card ordered" message.

This is even though I had gone for stamping after my 485 was approved. It was actually the fingerprinting after 485 approval that triggered card ordering rather than my passport stamping which was almost a week earlier.
