My GC journey
Our family's GC journey was not that easy either. I, my spouse and 11 years old daughter got the magic mails on June 4th but saw no change in my 14 year old son's case. We were to fly out of USA on June 7th and started worrying about his case. I called TSC using POJ method and got an officer after 30 minutes wait. She said we have sent a NOID(Notice Of Intent to Deny) and have 30 days to respond because your son failed to appear for a finger printing at ASC, Charlotte. I said that I have not received any finger printing in mail but she said they sent finger printing notices in April and May 2007. Finally she agreed to send one more time in care of my name and hung up. It may be of some interest to people whose children have turned 14 while there cases were still pending, they will need to be finger printed again. I was in a fix as to what to do now. I immediately drove to ASC , Charlotte without a finger print notice with my son on 6th June but reached 2 minutes late and they said we are closed for the day. I requested that I have a flight tomorrow morning but it did not work. I drove 90 miles again in the morning to take another chance but immigration officer said they can not do any thing without a notice. Since, we had the advance paroles, we flew out of the country and kept checking mails through friends. We received the FP notice on June 11th but the appointment date still being May 17th at 10 am. Spoke to senator's office and after a lot of emails back and forth in coordination with TSC representative it was decided that we go to ASC, Charlotte with the FP notice on June 27th, 2007. We cut short our vacation. Bought fresh tickets ($2500) because we were told if we do not appear for FP on
June 27th and TSC has no evidence of FP before July 3rd, this case will be denied. Our lawer suggested to fly back and get this behind us.
FP done and saw some LUD's on July 3rd, 5th, 30th, and 31st but no approval. I called the senator's office again. Same eveing approval emails came in and card received on 15th August.
I know it is pretty long story but may help others who are still fighting. Good luck to all who are waiting.
