All,

Finally the roller coaster ride of GC process is over :) . Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this website - it has been always an excellent source of information to everyone. A brief history, our case after RFE went to a local office (Columbus, OH) and finally after 6 months I got an interview call. The interview went find and officer stamped our passports.

I was expecting an update in the status but nothing happened. After stamping our passports officer said that it will take 6-8 months to receive the cards but couple of my friends got their cards in 10 days. I have two questions and will appreciate if someone can help me.

1. After an approval by local office, will there be an update in the case status on INS web site?
2. Is there any way where by I can check the status of the card - is it been ordered or not?

Once again thanks to you all and best of luck in your GC process.

Congratulations on your approval!
I do not know the exact answers to you question, but I track 485 cases for a date and I have seen that for some of the transfered cases also, the FP recd message is updated on the website. Do not know if approvals will also update or not.

Eric,

Thanks for the response. I didn't see any update on status. Its been close to 3 weeks now. I don't know what to do - wait or take an infopass appointment or just call 1-800 number.

Thanks

1) Yes, in the real world there should be an update once for "Card Ordered" and another for "Card Mailed" but you never know with USCIS. You may get your cards with out any update on the website.
2) The ways to check are online and phone(VRU). Both may give the same status. I don't think calling USCIS will give you any different status than what you already know.

Keep checking case status for any LUD's.

I think you can talk to 800 # to clear up the things, if they are able to help you. I do not think you need infopass appt. as your PP is already stamped. Is there anything else you need infopass appt. for?
