RFE response acknowledged by INS on 07/18/2000 ( same day

RFE was about Verification of Employment, W-2 of (98 and 99)
Tax returns (98 and 99)
My salary has increased from 65K to 85K. ( I have seen lot of
postings concerned about hike in salary. No problem.)
I did not do my 1999 taxes by 2000 April 15 because I had
some problem with my stocks account which was designated as
foreign account by mistake by brokerage firm. So, I filed for an
extension. When I got my RFE which asked my 1999
taxe returns on July 03, 2000, I was very worried about 1999
tax returns though I had done extension which is legal.
I sent tax returns to IRS on the same day, 07/03/2000.
Then, I sent extension form for 1999 that I had done before and 1999
tax returns together to the INS as part of my RFE response.
Approved on 08/04/2000 ( same day message was also updated.)
Recived the coutesy copies on 08/14/2000.
Attorney received approval letters on 08/15/2000.
Were asked to bring Original approval letters, I-94, Passport, 2 photos.
Went to the Arlington, VA office on 08/17/2000 at 6 A.M.
There were 20 people of ahead of us in the queue.
I was asked for EAD cards by the officer though approval letter
did not specify that. I carried EAD cards with me.
They did not ask EAD cards for my wife.
We got out by 8:45 A.M. ( Much earlier than I thought).
Approval dates, letters and telephone messages were updated/received
on the same days for my and wife
