485 Approved after 140 Redo

After almost 5 years waiting finally heard those sweet words just now on the CSC AVM "This case has been approved on April 25th 2001........." Approved for both mine and wifes case. Waiting for the approval notice now !

140 redo was approved on 04/11/2001. Lawyer received copy of 140 approval notice on 04/21/01 and mailed it back to CSC on 04/23/01. Did not need to mail back the 140 notice and do not know if that was a factor in the quick approval.

Here are my case details:

What does the approval message sound like ??

Does it start with date it was submitted and date receipt was mailed and then tell u it was approved on such and such date....or does it say straight off that this case was approved ??

This is what the message says:
"This case has been approved on April 25th, 2001. An approval notice was mailed. If 14 days had passed and you have not received this notice you may wish to verify and update your address. ........."

Talks about more stull like to update address call and speak to IIO and if more than 14 days have passed and you still did not receive approval notice you may wish to talk to IIO.

Now have to go to the dreaded San Jose INS or stamping. Hopefully after April 30th the situation gets better.

Alcapone, how long did your amended I-140 take? Can you post your details (RFE, amended I-140 approved, etc.) ?

I have a question for you, when you said that you mailed the copy of the I-140 (redo) approval, where and what is the exact address that you\'ve send your I-140 approval? How did you send the copy of your approval (via fax or mail)? Did you send it to a specific department in the CSC INS? Please let me know, because my I-140 (redo) has been approved last month (03/12/2001) and up to now, I haven\'t receive anything from CSC INS. I hope that by sending the copy of my I-140 (redo) approval would expedite the processing of my I-485 and my families I-485 cases.

Waiting_Man, my lawyer mailed the copy of approval notice of 140 redo on April 23. She mailed it along with a copy of the original RFE notice to the address mentioned in the RFE notice. 485 was approved on April 25. I am not sure the officer in charge of my case ever received the mailed copy of 140. They are NOT supposed to need that copy since 140 redo application was in response to RFE. Maybe I just got lucky there, My case was origainally assigned on Jan 15th and RFE was issued on Jan 17th, so maybe this is just a prompt officer. Anyways it will not hurt for you to mail the copy of approved 140. Good luck in your case I am pretty sure you will not have to wait long for your approval.

I got the courtesy copy on Saturday Apr 28, it was mailed on Apr 26th the same day they updated my case on the AVM. I am planning to go to San Jose INS on May 2nd. Hopefully the line will get shorter.
