485 approval without interview for EB1

My EB1-EA (ND 10/11/03, VSC) was approved last week, and 485 was transferred to NYC. I was reading the tread regarding 485, it looks like some got 485 approved without transfering to locan INS office but some got their 485 transferred to local office. I assume every catagory would be different like EB vs family based, or EB1 vs EB2 vs EB3, but I wonder if there is some sort of trend of 485 approval. Does anybody know if there exist such a thing or it is just random ?

The 6th year on my H1b visa will be permanently expired by 10/2006, I might go back to school next fall. At any case, it would be better for me if I can get 485 approved by then.

It looks like that 485 based on 140-OR can be approved wthout interview.

Many EB-1A and NIW cases get transferred to a local office. Look at local NY thread for more information. Backlog there is enormous.

My case was transferred to Baltimore in February 2004 and I received plastic card in June 2004.
