What is the next step?

Do I have to get passport stamped? How do I go about it?

Do I have to do anything else before I travel to India?

Mine is EB3 with labor substitution. PD is 4/2000.

I am planning to go to India in about 3 weeks or so. I think, I should get my card by then. People are saying it takes a week. So no need to go for passport stamping, I guess.

Congratulations!! Enjoy your freedom. As per your priority date I think you were current on Feb Bulletin. Right? I thought they process on the same month you are current. Anyway, its good to know that you got it.

Hi everybody,
Finally the magic words in my inbox:
I485 Approved. The approval date is the 9th (Sunday) though and I am wondering if USCIS has improved so much they are working on Sundays now....:) No interviews no other fingerprints. Was about to apply for my 3rd EAD card. They saved me $180.
Thanks for your replies and support. If anybody needs any particulars please let me know.

Nothing after that and suddenly got an RFE on 01/20/06 Asked for employment letter stating hiring date, renumeration and future prospects of employment. Also pay stubs for the last 3 months. Have sent them letter and pay stubs from company B.

I got those e-mails that I was waiting for since so long.

This forum and this 2004 thread has been a great help for us. Thank you all for keeping this forum active and helping us when we needed it most.

I am happy today. Finally it's over. I wish the very best for everyone... Everyone is going to have their day. I have given my details below. Please let me know if you need any info.

Now I need one more help... We are travelling to India this week. It is very unlikely that we are going receive the cards before we leave.

Experts please advise on the options that we have.

1. Try to get a temporary stamp.
2. Leave without the card and have them mailed to India.
3. Leave without the card and come back on AP.
4. Postpone the tickets by a week. This will cost around $600 and have to get approval at work also.

Experts... Please advise. I am sure this situation is discussed somewhere in this forum.. If you have a info/link please post. Thanks a lot.

Hi Hellomass,

Congratulations!!

Your and my case look similar. Our RFE are similar came around same time (I had LUD changes on 1/18 which I believe is for the RFE), Our approvals were on a Sunday.

So far there is no card ordered message for me. Have you received the Card ordered message?

The card should be coming directly in mail at your address and I-485 to your lawyer(if I am correct).

Any email address where we can check the status for AOS application at VSC

does anyone know if there is any email address where we can check the status of our application at VSC?

CSC has a email address where folks get the exact status of their applications in 2 weeks or less. wondering if anyone knows if we have something similar for VSC.

My best advise is DO NOT GO WITHOUT I-551 STAMP OR GC IN HAND.
$600 IS NOT A BIG ISSUE WHEN COMPARE TO GC.
JUST RECOLLECT THE TENSION AND STRESS YOU HAVE UNDERDONE SINCE
1999 OR 2004. ONCE GC APPROVED, AP IS NO LONGER VALID.
IT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA TO GET THE CARDS IN INDIA.
IF THERE IS BAD LUCK TIME....., YOU ARE RISKING FOR $600.
This is my advise. Rest Up to you.

Hi july022004

No card ordered message so far. But my brother had an approval about 3 weeks ago and he just got the card about 4 days after the approval notice without any message changes. So i am just keeping my fingers crossed and waiting for the card. I had another LUD change on 04/11 after approval but no message change. I don't know what that means though.

485 Approval

Hi Guys,
Just got my approval notice and it says I still have to go give my fingerprints, photograph and signature. Is this normal after approval?
They will schedule it within 90 days. Haven't seen anything like this before in the forum but I may be mistaken and maybe this is just normal. Well I guess it's going to put my card back a few more months. Can I get my passport stamped in the mean time? Any suggestions Gurus?
