485 and might be laid off

Hi all
I have my 485 in process. In June I complete 180 days. I have got my EAD. I might be laid off end of April. Can I use the EAD to work. Also, does INS always send an RFE for adjudication?

You can work using your EAD. As long as INS does not adjudicate your case before 180 days, find and join a new job in similar field, and you should be fine.

This topic has some good heated discussions but no conclusions.
It is upto an individual how much risk he or she wants to take.
Just looking at it: service centers are approving cases as
long as they don\'t adjudicate for 180 days and it is in a similar
field, so far there has been minimum problems reported in different
websites and INS is pretty well informed about exercising it. My
opinion derived from some discussion here, I think you have
only one choice which is to use EAD and work in a similar field. I am starting a discussion called "Problems after using AC21 portability: Before 180 days or After 180" . Lets see if someone
comes forward.
