I have already applied for 485 and have my biometrics next month. I am not yet married and plan to do so in the next one year. My question is the following:
What is the likelyhood of GC being approved in < 1 year?
I was told by my lawyer that if my GC is approved and I get married after that then my spouse has 2 choices to get GC:
- she can apply for it at the consulate general in Chennai and get it in 6 months or 1 year.
- Apply for it in US where it can take 5-7 years.
My question is on choice 1. How easy it is, does anyone know of the risks involved? Is it dependent based GC? Does it get approved within 1 year.
