485 Adjudication

Folks:
My case is pending adjudication for the last 2 years (actually more than 2 years), my company filed for the amended I-140 in August 2001 and since than all my co-workers have recd their approvals.

For reasons best known only to INS, my case is getting delayed, and every time I call INS, one of their officer will tell me I\'ll hear in 4 - 6 weeks time, now this has been going on for the last 6 months.

Does any body there have any information / idea as to what could be going on. Any body been through such a depressing and ridiculous situation.? Please share any of your such experience.

Ask your lawyer to call INS

I have the very situation as yours. But my case was approved after lawyer spoken with INS. Here is my story:
PD: 1/2000
I-140 approved 9/2001
I-485 ND: 3/2001
Company merge in 7/2001. Filed amended I-140 in 8/2001
Lawyer called INS in january regarding my amended 140 pending. The officer said that they will merge I-140 to I-485 case and will call back soon. After a week later, my I-485 got approved, but I-140 is still pending. My lawyer says it is normal so I do not care my I-140 case anymore.
I believe your Amended I-140 has been stuck somewhere, and I-485 office is waiting for I-140 office\'s response.
My suggestion is to aske your lawyer to call since INS usually does not speak to you for I-140 case.

We checked with a officer and they said our amended I-140 has been reconciled with our 485 long ago. Thats another reason why I am getting more worried for this delay in adjudication, have they lost our papers??? No clue!!!
