Hello Folks

my case 140 approved, 485 past 6 months

if I understand correctly I change my job using h1 transfer once the receipt comes, send G28 to change my lawyer to new employer , send AC21 details when the NOID comes in to new lawyer and have him handle all the communication etc.

my question is when I change the job and move to new city/ residential address shoudl I update CIS with new address? I hope to have all communication handled by my lawyer anyway.

Does that move my application to new service center? Is sending address change really necessary?

thanks
Harsha

Filing of AR-11 form for Address change is required. Also update USCIS by calling the National Service Center number for each pending I485 (yourself and dependants)

Reason: Fingerprinting notices, EAD cards are all mailed to address on file. All approval notice copies are mailed to address on file.

-------------- decide according to your situation:

1 file form AR11 for address change ( it will not change your address on pending petitions with USCIS)
2 update NCSC on 18003755283, your new address, provide them your ,WAC,EAC

or LIN # of I-485 and reciept # of any pending petitions with service

center, provide the receipt#, your name, DOB, A#( A# is on I-485 filing

reciept)
3 write letter to service center for address change on your I-485( if you

have spouse I-485 pending He/she also need to change address on her/his

I-485) or any pending petition with them provide your past and NEW address,

attach I-485 receipt copy, write your I-485 reciept # name, DOB, A# on cover

letter so that you get fingerprinting notice at your new address. Send the

letter to your service center with certified return receipt and out side the

envelope write in big bold letters ATTENTION: ADDRESS CHANGE for Pending

Form I-485 ( or any other application)
4 if want to use AC21 THEN if the past company lawyer filed I-485 then

better change your lawyer and fill up new G28 with your new lawyer and he

can update USCIS that he represent you and can mail G28 to sevice center, he

can also make a request to chage your New address on Pending I-485 and he

will get if any RFE, if you dont change any RFE will go to past lawyer
*** do the all 1,2,3,4

Do you need to fill up some form to inform the change of Lawyer to USCIS?
And is there a chance of this getting rejected?

----------- you have to fill up/sign form G28 with new lawyerr and he will update the USCIS that he represent you
And is there a chance of this getting rejected?
------------- Why the form G28 to represent you by new lawyer will get rejected???? It can be rejected if it has no signature from you and lawyer address of lawyer is missing or lawyer has been banned to practice law

change of Lawyer notification

So this is just a information like the change of address.
My main concern was that can the previous lawyer veto the request for change of lawyer. I know the pervious lawyer has nothing to do with this, but does the USCIS check with the previous lawyer to find it it is okay with him.

Well I guess i am asking moot questions. Was just trying to find out if there are any issues to take case while changing the lawyers.

-------------- it is request by lawyer B that you will be represent by him for your I-485 or all immigration matters that is why you have to sign form G28 with him and he will send it to USCIS that G28 will be attached to your pending file.

-------------NO, you CAN revoke or fire any lawyer any time
I know the pervious lawyer has nothing to do with this, but does the USCIS check with the previous lawyer to find it it is okay with him.
---------------------NO, NO

----------- yes, why dont you read the USCIS site form G28 ???
Was just trying to find out if there are any issues to take case while changing the lawyers.
------------- do you mean one does not change lawyers???? many have changed lawyer 2-4 times and are changing everyday. one can represent himself ,lawyer is not needed. one uses lawyer becasuse they know immigration law.

Ginnu,

Where can I find the address of the service center for notifying my change of address (on pending 485)?

Thanks,
Kishore
