I will be starting a 4 year residency on H 1 in july 2006.
When i go for a job , i will have only 2 years remaining on H 1 .

Will this be enuf for me to start my GC and stay here without having to go back to my country?

Also my husband will have a job on his H 1 this year. IF his GC happens before mine( it shud), then can i get a GC as his spouse?

please clarify.

The problem for physicians to get a GC during residency is that you must fulfill the requirements on the day that your labor certification is filed. So, if you want ot get a green-card as 'internist' you can only file after you finished residency (a workaround for that is to file as 'physician general practice' which can be done after 2 years of residency).

can EAD from EB1 can be used to complete residency

I am planning to file I-140 under EB1 category. If everything will go alright, and I get EAD, can I use it to complete my fellowship in internal medicine speciality. I am currently in final year of residency on H1B. What I learnt from this forum by g oing thru posts that EAD can not be used to do residency/fellowship. But I am filing my petition for EB1 indicating that I am involved in health sciences clinical research and would like to intend to continue doing it during my fellwship. Please answer.

It can be used for ANY job, including working at the 7-11 or fellowship (EAD employment is not limited to a sponsored job or a particular job category).
