Hi,

I am planning to file the N-400 application after 4 yrs 9 months (+ a few extra days) but I am somewhat unsure about the following question.

Part 2. Information about your eligibility. (Check only one.)
I am at least 18 years old AND
A. I have been a Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States for at least five years.

Should I state "Yes" or "No" for this. I am applying under 5 year rule but at the time of filing will not have completed five years as PR.

Thanks and appreciate your help!

Your answer should be yes.Your application is based on 5 years and USCIS allows you to apply 90 days before 5 years.

Even though you can submit the application before 5 years, by the time you are approved and do the oath it will be at least the full 5 years.

Thank you mh66ii and Jackolantern for replying!

This is what I thought but wasn't sure in light of "have you ever been cited.." (with reference to traffic tickets and so on; "detained" vis-a-vis questioning by police officers for traffic violations) :)
