1) If you have any Loans in Australia Ie Car, Credit Card Bills, Home Loans ect will that affect you're chances of getting your green card? ( ignoring the $16 000 factor )

2) How strict are they on the $16 000, has anyone ever gotten past the interview with a ' $16 000 loan ' Ie one that was borrowed really early on?

3) How far back do they request Bank Statements, and do they look at you're employment status? Ie could you quit your job one day before the interview?

4) What happens if you physically dont have the $16 000, Will they simply deny you, or is there some kind of alternative apart from getting a sponser?

1) no. Your debt has nothing to do with immigration
2) it depends on your education, experience, connections in the US, etc.
3) why would you quit? what if you don't get a visa?
4) you could get a sponsor or a job offer.

Upgraded,
I don't know if you've read recent posts from people who have passed or are about to pass dv interviews, but quite a few people already mentioned that embassies aren't that strict anymore when it comes to financial proof. Or perhaps you just don't believe or accept that...For example, I-130 form is apparently really not required anymore, and NO, you don't need 16,000$ on your account (I had neither, only a sponsorship letter and if you can believe, they were pleasantly surprised to see that and refered to it as "affidavit." They didn't even look at my bank statement where I had waay below the recommended minimum of 10,000). In fact, nobody asked me for any financial statement.

They MAY ask for some financial proof if your knowledge of English is poor or nonexistent (you obviously don't have that problem), maybe perceived poor quality of your formal education; or in general, if they get a feeling that you might "feel lost" for a while when you come to the U.S. It's probably also true that a financial requirement depends on a country where the dv winner is from.

It's definitely good to have at least something to show to the consular officer in case they ask for it--if only for your own peace of mind, but there's no need to be unneccessarily anxious about it.

Wow, that is a huge load off my shoulders.
I Have my ' Year 12 Diploma ' I'm in ' Australia ' and I speak ' English ' Perfectly.

I have a friend in America who has offered me a cheap apartment and although I could NEVER take a dollar from her ( And God Knows I wouldn't ) I was wondering If I should be putting her down on some sort of Affida of Support form?

1) Does anyone know where I'd find this Aff Forum on the web? I belive she would like to see what's required of her legally. ( I'm not going to take a single dollar ever but if it's going to help me get to the USA I belive she'd help. )

2) How would I go about getting a letter of support? Can any family friend write one?

Use your inheritance!

Why should you worry about what happens if you "physically don't have $16,000"? In another thread you claimed that a relative had passed away and left you with $16,000!
And since you haven't yet won the lottery, don't you have more important things to worry about. For example, in a different thread you said that you are worried about being able to "immigrate back" to Australia since you live in New Zealand and don't have an Australian birth certificate! Has that problem magically disappeared?

My Moneys in the stock market. I have about $5000 left in my Bank. Hence why I was asking about debts, investments ect.
What didnt make sense to me was someone getting rejected for not having $16 000 in their bank but have millions invested.
I was never migrating back it was my friend, he's in NZ and coming to Aus, I have my Birth cert and I'm 100% Fine and all good to move to the US. :D I actually just posted it for him since he was too lazy to make an account on here >_> *Grumbles* But he's sorted it out now, apparntly after 3 rejections it's going through. Unlike him I'll never loose my Birth Cert, its way too important lol.

As for ' you havn't won yet ' I WILL win this year.
