300000 applications

Wow, that sucks. Either this is going to be really bad (5 year wait for 485? Ouch.) or it might force the politicians to do something about it, like allowing USCIS to use unused visa numbers. I'm not holding my breath, though.

I'm hoping that I can still get out of this mess and get approved in a reasonable time since I'm an early June ROW filer, but there's no logic to how USCIS works, so there are no guarantees of anything. Hopefully, most of the people that filed in July/August had recent priority dates, because like others have mentioned they would have been able to file earlier if they had earlier priority dates.
 
This was expected. It's going to cause HUGE namecheck backlogs.

I hope they won't start piling new 300K namechecks on top of ours buring them forever. I think what's going to happen is USCIS will issue receipt notices and interim benefits, and then put on hold all applications that don't have PDs current as per Sep, Oct and later VBs. Most of 300K are EB3s or EB2s retro, so they'll have many years of wait
