30 months requirement

My daughter has been travelling to India for every 6 months as she is studying in a medical college in India. She has only 25 months of physical stay in US.Rest of the eligibility requirements are fine. Can we apply for citizenship for her with the proof and reason of travelling frequently?...or do we need wait for 30 months of stay and apply later? Please advise.
 
30 months is the rule, I do not believe the why for USCIS will be important. You will also need to see if she has any periods outside the US longer than 6 months. That could cause problems with her continuous presence.
 
She'll need minimum of 30 months physical presence at the time of filing. Also, a back and forth travel pattern of just under 6 months will be a flag to question her continuous residential ties.
