So,
after 30 days the SSN has still not been issued to my wife.
We called only a couple of times, about once a week, not to bother people over there too much...
Just FYI, if you get the 1800 number to call on the notice of inability to issue your SSN/further process application, know that it is absolutely useless...there is NOTHING they can do to let you know what the status of your case is, not even after 30 days when the receipt prompts you to call the number or go to the local office.
In the local office, they changed the story saying that it now may take up to 6 weeks from the date of application to simply verify one's A# and THEN another 2+ weeks to actually receive it in the mail???
Is it just us or is there anybody out there with the same experience???
