Chat User : Do you think the 30-day visitors rule will become law? Appreciate your comments.

Attorney Murthy : There is a good chance that the INS will reduce the number of days tourists may stay in the U.S., since about 80 per cent apparently depart within 30 days, anyway. Also, we have already heard from many people that their relatives have already started getting the B-2 stays for only 30 to 90 days, so even before the rule has become law the INS is implementing it!

Very Scary!!!.

Any experiences or comments please
Thanks

6 months

My MIL got 6 months when she came on Apr 29, no questions were asked. She\'s visiting for the second time (she was here last year).

Also, the US Ambassador has indicated that Indian tourists may not be affected. Here\'s the link: http://www.murthy.com/blackwill.html

So, keep your hopes up.

My parents had a tough time this time

My parents have been visiting the U.S.A every year since 1995. This time the immigration officer at California wanted to give them only one month and told them that this is the last time they were going to get a 6 months visa.
