3 month visa..help pls

Please help,

Both my in-laws went to Chennai first time for Visitor Visa.

They both got a Multiple Entry visa but Expiry date is 3 months from issue date? PLEASE suggest how I can extend this?

I intend them to come here atleast for 6 month's visit. This never came up as they only mentioned they need a "visitor visa" in the interview

If they are planning to travel and reach USA on or before expiration of the visa, they are OK and will probably get 6 months stay. Otherwise they will need to apply for a visa again.

Yes they are planning to come mid october but the visa expires dec 4th issued sept 4th

Also what should they carry and ask the immigration officer at POE

Visa expiration is NOT connected to the time visitors are allowed to stay in the US. Therefore they should be OK.
There are no special documents required other than passport, visa.
