3 month residency before applying for naturalization

Anyone know how the USCIS calculates how long you have lived in a US state? I read a post which stated that they base it on the date printed on your driver's license. What if you moved to a state and didn't change your license till much later (common in the tri-state area)

When did you file a change of address with USPS?

I would think that counts a tad bit more than a driver's license

Its not an issue for me. Curiosity led me to ask that question as its not posted explicitly anywhere. I'm wondering how the USCIS can determine if you've resided in one state for atleast 3 months and if anyone has had any problems with it during their interview/application.

Well, as a CA resident you need (by Law) a CA driver's license so, if you don't bother getting a correct one in time (you break the Law if it is a State requirement) than it's your own fault.

USCIS will likely ask you several questions at interview to come to that determination, like when did you move, what date shows on DL, when did you notify USCIS of address change etc..
