3 Citizenships?

I don't know where to post these questions, but mods can move it where it is more appropriate.

These questions are especially for those who already have indian/pakistani, canadian and american citzenships. My questions are:

(1) Is it legally ok, to have three citzenships?

(2) What is best to get first canadian permanent residency or american permanent residency?

(3) Is it necessary to complete one country's citzenship process, or we can get both countries (canada and america) permanent residences and then apply for citizenship when the time comes?

(4) When ever there is any offical forms, do we have to list all the citizenships?

Thank you in advance for your help.

There is a forum member here who has triple citizenship - Pakistan, Canda and America and he got it in that order. I don't think India allows dual citizenship. I have two citizenships myself but it depends on your first country if they allow you to take another country citizenship or not. I know Phillipines cancels the citizenship immediately on accepting US citizenship but one can regain it. I really don't see any benefit of keeping several citizenships going if one is going to be living in the US permenently. One has to keep renewing several country passports! Ofcourse, if the attachment is emotional, I can understand that.

Sure, unless one of the countries specifically prohibits it. e.g. India, Germany.

Tricky problem. Basically you need to satisfy each country's residency requirements in order to be eligible for naturalization. Probably you'd need to go about this one at a time. Of course, the big question is "why would you?"...

(4) When ever there is any offical forms, do we have to list all the citizenships?

I'd just list the last place where I gained citizenship.

Depends. Generally, if you are citizen of countries X, Y, and Z, each country recognizes you as ONLY a citizen of their own. So if you are a citizen of country X filling out a government form of country X (or doing any other business or process with country X), you should say your citizenship is of country X, even if you have other citizenship(s), unless specifically asked about the other citizenship(s).

Yes, provided all three countries allow their citizens to procure other citizenships without losing theirs. Someone I know has 5 citizenships and all 5 of those countries have no issues with multiple citizenships.

Thank you all for your responses.

Triple_Citizen, you also have three citizenships. Can you please also give me more information for my other questions.

A1: Yes, provided all concerned countries allow multiple citizenships for their citizens
A2: Makes no difference
A3: Since one cannot hold PR in both Canada and the USA simultaneously for long, I would advise completing one country's requirements before proceeding to the other one
A4: That depends on the form. I listed both my Canadian and Pakistani citizenships on my N-400. When I changed jobs recently, I only mentioned my US citizenship on my I-9.
