medical is also valid for one year like FP, specially TB skin test has become common these days.

finally received RFE, USCIS needs medicals, i was kinda in a tight situation, as i have travel plans following week. luckily received RFE in time.
did anyone received approvals after submitting medicals ?

The Fax really works...
I faxed them on 15th Oct and my attorney rec'd a reply on 16th Oct...
The IO wrote that there was no RFE issued, infact its a computer error that I got RFE meesage. She said that she had corrected the error to "Previous Action Cancelled" but I haven't seen an update online.

I also recieved RFE on Oct 3rd but it wasn't until I called USCIS about another matter that I even knew I had an RFE - no email, no status updates. Spoke to my lawyer right after & they said they sent it in the mail to me on the 15th! I had them fax it to me that day, however, i still haven't recieved the mail copy.
I would suggest calling USCIS everyday, taking an InfoPass and documenting your attempt to resolve this matter. Contact Ombundsman also - this is ridiculous! My expiry date to submit information is Nov 4th - I suspect yours will be the same.
For me they needed:
Proof of my physical presense in the US on or before Dec, 21st 2000
Proof that my original Labor Cert was recieved by DOL before April 30th, 2001
(I had initiated the GC process under 245i in 2001 - however I married and applied as deriviative)
A current letter of employment for my husband
Copies of our joint tax returns for the last 5 years along with W2's and pay stubs.
I am exhausted!

All of you with RFEs/NOIDs be very careful as time is everything, USCIS gives only 30 days for your response to reach them from the date they issued an RFE. Whatever it takes to get it to you, act fast and respond else your cases will be considered abandoned per USCIS and doesnt mean your GC will be denied for sure but the next steps after your late for an RFE/NOID is excruciating, you have to file MTR (motion to re-open) and then your file will lie in a shelf for months/years to get back to case processing has resumed stage. Just called up USCIS. They opened a case and gave me a ticket number. The IO was nice and informed me that 30 day limit is not set in stone. It is up to the officer working on my case to assign a deadline. Minumum is 30 days and it could extend up to 12 weeks. However, she also mentioned that since I have not received the RFE yet, there is nothing much I can do other than wait for it.
I asked if my case would be 'abandoned' or 'denied' in case I dont receive the RFE by Nov 8th (30 days from the issuance of RFE). She said it 'should' not since I have the ticket number from our call today. Scary, eh?

This is my advice to you. The ticket number and info you got from this IO is not worth at all. They have NO info and they're just paid to answer the phone calls, that's what I understood from my case.
Call the TSC and speak to an I.O till you get the RFE faxed or mailed. I know it's not going to be easy BUT keep on trying... what else we can do... try ,try and try...
I got my RFE after 7-8 calls, and to check whether they have recd. the RFE another 5 calls. Try till you find a nice I.O who can help you out, it's totally just luck and nothing else.

MADNY - thanks for the update. I will religiously call them every day starting today till I get it. How true is the 30 day limit? My lawyer mentioned the same thing as the IO - it depends on the officer working on your case - they assign minimum 30 days to 12 weeks. This is also consistent with USCIS Press Release in June (link below)

I did the same called USCIS raised service ticket and this is your proof that you called and informed about not receiving the RFE.
Also I called yesterday to TSC and to inform them. IO who answered my phone has no control over the application she can just read through the contents and pass info to the officer who raised RFE.
IO who answered the phone did send a request to IO assigned to your case about not receiving the RFE and also passed on the fax number I provided her to atleast fax the copy.
She said to wait for 10 days if not received then call us back.
I think if you call multiple times that might annoy them , they maintain every call record in your file.
Choice is yours ..I do know that there are somany people waiting for RFE copy.

Just got this from my lawyer's office (of course a paralegal)....
"I called USCIS this morning and they told me we need to wait 30 days beforewe can put an inquiry in to get the RFE (which if we do an inquiry, I wastold that it would take anywhere from 30 to 45 days to receive). Since theyrequest additional evidence on October 9th, we would have to wait until the beginning of November."
