2nd FP notice Received - need advice

Do not mean to start a new thread just to let everybody know that I have got my 2nd FP notice (as another one already exists), but need a bit of advice as well.

I have my FP scheduled for Feb 17th at ASC, San Jose.

It is mandatory to go to the designated ASC or can one go to any ASC within the CSC area? Anybody with similar experience?


Any bit of information will help and will be appreciated.

It should be OK to take FP at any ASC within the U.S., since the
results are all sent to FBI and then forwarded to BCIS after
background checking there.

We applied in California and we still live in San Jose, but 19
months ago I had my first FP taken in Florida on a day later than
the assigned date. No problem found with the FP so far.
 
I have my FP scheduled on 01/22/2004 in Oakland, so do you think if I go to SJC they will let me do it? Since I work in San Jose so there will be less to commute.
 
You can go early and find out and if they do not let you do so then go to Oakland. But doesn't hurt to try, since you are local. In my case I will have to fly into SJC and if I can avoid the cost (as it is the lawyer is creaming me) then I would like to do so.

Based on wac-02-068's reply we should be able to go to any ASC.
 
My lawyer told me they will let you do FPs at another site if you are located more than 100 miles from the center you were asked to go to. My sons did FPs at Goleta even though they were asked to have their FPs at Oakland.
 
Online status for 2nd Fp

nvi - my online status still says - FP results (of my 1st FP) have been received etc.

No change as yet.
 
I've got my 2nd FP notice.

The FP appointment is on Jan 14.
Question for anyone that has 2nd FP experience in Phoenix:
Do they do early FP? On my first FP it didn't look like they did.

Received 2nd FP

Hi Friends,

Received 2nd FP for me and wife scheduled on FEB 05. My lawyer received them. No Change in the online message yet.

Just wanted to update the forum, that I got my 2nd FP done, early at a different location.

I was scheduled to go to San Jose ASC on 17th of Feb but got it done at Phoenix ASC on Jan 24th.

Apparently we can get our FP done as early as 85 days from the date of appt, if you have the letter with you. That is what a worker at the ASC told me.

Also location does not matter - the results will find their way back to your file, since FBI sends the results online.

I got my 2nd FP done on dec 29th and it was scheduled for january 16th. I went early as i had to leave for india. In a few days the online message changes to
"On January 2, 2004, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made."
