I haven't been active the last couple of months but now I am done!

My case is in short:

RD Dec 3 2000, FP Apr 24 2001 then nothing until I changed lawyer in August 2003.

New lawyer went to VSC and found out that my children's file were lost and therefore the family's case where on hold.
New lawyer reconstructed their files, VSC decided to transfer our file to Newark August 29, 2003.

Got notice for second FP (Oct 7) and Interview (Oct 21) in the same letter.

Did FP, smooth procedure, took about 20 minutes from entering the room to leaving. They promised FP clearance ready for Oct 21 inteview.

Did interview and FP for GC Oct 21 (today). We all got our PP stamped. The entire thing took about an hour.

We are happy now!!

Hope that all of you will have a smooth final ride to your happines.

Congratulations!!

How did he contact VSC?. Casue with this normal status check process nobody has moved any further.

Hi,

Congrats, you sure had an eventful journey. Time to enjoy..
Can you also please post did the online status indicate anything about the files being lost? It seems from your post that it looked normal.

Thanks

Answer to several:

Online message only changed when the case was transferred. Until then the good old 1FP message and case resumed.

My lawyer walked in at the service center. He did not get acces the first time, but got an appointment for meeting an officer a couple of days later.

Can you please post interview details.

Thanks

Wife and I was fingerprinted on the GC template and signed it at the beginning, children were not.

Was escorted to the officers cubicle. Swore to say the truth.
Was asked where I worked and my job and how long I have worked for the employer. ( I am an EB1 EA so I did not have any Labor certificate)
Was asked for Employment letter and the most recent tax return and paystubs.
Was asked about address and how long we have lived there and how long we have been in US and when we arrived in US.
Wife was asked a couple of family related questions.
Handed over PP's, AP's and Ead's. Children were playing gameboy during the interview.
That was it. Officer said sorry it has taken so long :)

It was the nicest immigrationrelated experience of the last three years!!

Congratulations DoctorT,

That's the way to go guys. Thanks for sharing your experience with everyone.

Everybody start asking your lawyers to go to VSC and then we will see the queues like those used to be outside US Consulates in India for visa. So attorneys would start waiting in the queues a night before, get some work out of these guys.:D :D ;)

DoctorT,

Congratulations!
I need to find an active lawyer like yours. Is there any way I can get his name and address/phone?

Thanks,

Online message never change!!!

Since my case was transfered to a local office in New York about 10 months ago just to be schedule for a interview and probably second FP taken and passport stamping my online message is the same..."on january 6 2003 we transferred your I485 to a NY office at 26 Federal Plaza for them schedule and conduct your interview.Scheduling can take several months, the local office will contact you ....bla,bla,bla....bla,bla,bla.....
My lawyer said that they are thanking about 10 to 11 monhts to schedule a interview in NY.
Question is:Do they change the online message when they schedule a interview,I mean day, time and place for inteview shows up for the online message or even just:"Your interview date and time has been schedule"we sent you a letter with this notification(something like that...)?
Anyone who has experienced can please reply.
Thanks.

Congrats

Can you plz post your lawyers name and contact info. Where did you get your stamping?
