2nd fingerprint question

Guys/Gals,

I just had my 2nd fingerprinting done (RD Sep01, FP1 May02) but we haven't received a notice for my wife yet. We were fingerprinted at the same time the first time around. Is this pretty common? Could you please share your experiences?

Thanks in advance.

W

I dont think its common. My wife and I recieved all the notices together so far, atleast so far.

But that doesnt mean you need to be worried about this, your wife may recieve her notice very soon.

hi..

the notices aren't necessarily sent out together. in fact, i had to provide finger prints twice while it was three for my wife. wait a few days and hopefully the notice should arrive

regards

Our always come at the same time. As usual, there is no pattern in what NSC does, so maybe it is not worth worrying

This issue has been discussed repeatedly, and anecdotal evidence suggest that BCIS is notorious for this kind of in-efficiency. In such a case, it may not hurt to call BCIS and launch an inquiry.

Thanks!

to all of you that responded. My case is already with the Senator's office and I requested them to look into the matter. And it worked real fast. The 2nd fingerprint notice for my wife was issued with a date that was exactly a day after I contacted the Senator's office via e-mail!

Same boat. My wife got 2nd FP notice, I didn’t (we both did 1st FP in same day). Please any idea or suggestion? Is it normal?

Vetri,

You should be surprised if both of you receive the FP notice together. Are you not aware of BCIS functioning ?

Vetri (Victory - from my Tamil dictionery) to you and everyone.

Regards,

Of-course, not. Even the requirement to be fingerprinted more than once ain't ..

normal. Maybe, INS believes that immigrants shed their skin and need to be fingerprinted repeatedly. Maybe we can start an initiative to collect samples to prove that we are no snakes!

Sankrit,

Hats off to your sence of humour:D

It is really a good one.

Regards,

Thanks; you are kind. Humor and self-respect are the two emotional crutches that seem to sustain a lot of us here. Our travails remind me of a movie that I saw a long time ago. "Stalag 77", I think it is called!

sankrit

i am curious by the profundity of even your humorous (and sometimes caustic) posts... - where are you from - india, pakistan, antananarivo?

it's okay if you'd rather not divulge it, though.

as far as your recent allusion, i think immigrants are lot like snakes - including their evident poikilothermy (cold-bloodedness)! didn't i tell you bcis (or uscis or whatever the latest beast is named) is, contrary to our belief, is quite smart?

For most Americans, the only interesting thing about Madagascar, other than the potential for setting up yet another naval base in the Indian Ocean so evil-doers can be punished, is the striped lemur (Did I get the lemur part right?). Fortunately for Madagascarians, unlike us folks from the sub-continent, they are as ignorant of the United States as the US is about them, so if they ever want to immigrate anywhere, Kenya is about as far as they will want to go.

Seriously though, I feel that by identifying my nationality, I would be facilitating a rather dysfunctional process that seems to be operating on these boards, i.e., the interpretation of posts through the parochial prism of national identities and sub-continental differences. I may not be able to prove this but after a six month obsessive-compulsive association with this forum, that has been my observation.

Over time, from all those posts that inevitably reveal bits and pieces of the poster's background, I suppose it is now not too difficult to guess where I am from.

sankrit...

"Stalag 77"...

get your numbers right, sankrit: it was "stalag 17", starring william holden. not that i am trying to get under your skin, lest it bestir you to wholesale indulgence in some poikilothermy of your own...

You are probably right. After all these years, my memory is not what it used to be. I had attributed such lapses, which have become all too frequent in recent times, to the fog of AOS limbo. But, you are right; I need to get tested for dyslexia and stop substituting 7s for 1s. In any case I have to admit to a certain sense of relief, as after that injudicious post about "stalag 77"(a momentary lapse of judgement), I was half expecting someone to accuse me of being an anti-semite for frivolously comparing my situation with that of a nazi internment camp. Such sensitivities run high these days!

you must be wondering what this thread is turing out to be!

Never mind - call BCIS, talk to your lawer and/or seek help from senator/congressman! Do we punished souls have another way out!

Yeah! that will do him/her a lot of good. Remember, if those avenues were effective, these boards would not be 64K strong..:)

...you forgot the aye-aye and the indri, two self-effacing and peaceable denizens of the lemuridae; in any case, one way those madagascans are surely substandard to most americans is that the former still have those lemurs unadorned (unadulterated?) and running around in the woods, rather than clothed and groomed and rocking a trillion-dollar administration in this country.

or maybe that's what makes antananarivo a cut above washington?

thanks uscis, for being the sole cause of such soulful harangue!

Yet another reminder of my failing memory.... Is there anybody suffering from 'total recall' out there? maybe we can have our heads surgically joined for a change and average out the symptons!:)
