I was told that an EAD renewal/approval takes a looooooooooooong time. So I thought I was late when I sent in my EAD for Approval ND 28th July 2004 as my first EAD was expiring Nov 18 2004. I got the rcpt notice only for myself not for spouse. And today to my shock/surprise whatever I got my EAD card 21 days. I smell burning rubber...........And guess what it is valid only for 1 year booohoooo and even worse it is valid from 18th August (date of issuance).
Strangely there is a method to this madness. My 140 RFE education response was rcvd on 12th August and the LUD changed everyday till guess what the 17th. Though there is no link between 140 and EAD as such but here is the data. Coincidence !!
One positive note I feel (just to make myself feel better) is that they issued an years EAD as hopefully the same case officer looked at my 140/485 and thought this guy will get his GC within the year
