2nd Approval Notice

Hi everyone,
So here's an interesting thing that has happened to my case. My I-485 got approved on May 13th and I got it stamped a week after that, and yesterday I got another approval in the mail...this time the approval date is June 10th. It has the same details as the May 13th approval notice (EAC, A# etc.).

So now I am wondering what to do, since I already have a stamp on my passport. Any of you out there faced this situation yet ? Should I go to the INS and clear this out or just ignore this approval notice and wait for my green card to come in the mail ?

Any feedback/ comments/ suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Well, I spoke with the BCIS IIO and she told me that I should go ahead and ignore this notice especially since I have already had my passport stamped now.

She looked at my case and said that some data had changed in my case ( i think it was the PD that changed) and that caused the system to regenerate the notice. However she did mention that my case was still under investigation even though an approval was mailed !

So I guess I am going to ignore this approval notice....

Any other thoughts ??

well, I read of this one other guy who got an rfe or something after he got his approval!

Maybe they just do a quality control check on some of the cases? Sit tight for a couple of months!

When it rains....it pours !!

Well what the IIO told me was that my Form I-81 with my fingerprints and signature were obtained by the BCIS after the approval was sent. I explained to the IIO that this was the same form that the Newark INS had filled out when we went for our stamping.

Bottomline is that there was some change to the data regarding my case, and she said that I should ignore this notice. My attorney says the samething !

What I did observe was that the orginial approval notice showed a PD of the time my I485 was filed. However the new one shows the PD as the date when the labor was filed. Other than that all the data is the same.

Well another example of how an INS operates.....

When it rains....it pours !

My wife also received two approval notice, one with action date 5/9 and the other with 5/28/03. The online updated with the second notice. It's pretty normal for BCIS, there should be no surprise or worry as long as you were approved.

Yes compaqdb....thats what the IIO told me....thanks !

I guess I'm going to ignore the second notice, and just keep it in my big huge Green Card file :)
