My lawyer has initiated 2 case status inquires over the past 2 months. It's really frustrating.

With the recent cap on H-1's, the negative publicity on outsourcing, stagnant American job market, and current reign of Ashcroft & Co., maybe it's better to go back to India?

I have already lost my hopes...

Senators/Congressmen give the same reply - wait for 30-60 days!
I am mentally all set to pack-up and go back to India!

Same Boat

But why are you guys so despondent. It is a matter of time. If not now, it will come in 3 months. Hardly anyone from September 2001 is left.

No doubt I get frustrated as well at times, but its luck of the draw.

Guys don't panic- you are very close now. I know it frustrating and all that. You will get there- like everyone before you. So don't worry be happy.

I have been waiting for 10 years now.

Yep, guys hang on for some more time. It is frustrating no doubt but with the recent 2001 and early 2002 approvals, your time will come soon too.
Think of it this way, You have spent enough time waiting so waiting a few months/days should be worth it.
I also think, just in case there is any problem, I can anyway go back to India and be with family and good job opportunities and prospects of growth etc. So the way I see it, I feel there is nothing to lose..
So my advice, just hang on, sign the petition and don't let the INS crap take over your lives. Hard as it is, this seems to be the only way out?

It's easy to say: hang on there.

But how long this hang on??? I might loose my job anyday. I can't change my job to a better one because that job don't match my current responsibility (currently I am a product development scientist but I got my pharmacist license which is different then my current job but pays hell of lot money).

I have option waiting for me but can't accept it. Becuase no time left in H-1B and I can't go any different proffession in this stage.

Initially I was counting days (365 - 540), then I started counting months (27 so far), now I count years (3rd currently). This wait is frustrating.....
