25000 GC approved in 48 hours before july 1st

You had infopass on 6/18/07. Every thing done in last two days !! Yo know, billions of gallon water flow away in Niagara in those 12 days!!
Per unconfirmed sources, they alloted some visa number to pre-adjudicated cases on July 1, 2007 whose dates were not current in June but became current in July 1.
This is the reason they didn't modified July VB but issued separate update (unavailable from July 2) along with July VB (Current). This means on July 1, everything was current and July 2, everything was unavailable!!

You never know, your case might have already assigned visa number on July 1 and you will get approval in coming days.

This is my interpretation.

I was hoping that pre-adjudicated cases would be in the pipeline for approval, but alas! it is not so.
My Case: EB2 India PD Aug 25 2005, 485 RD 09/29/2005 TSC
I was told in my infopass session on 6/18/07 that all security checks were completed on my case, that it was pre-adjudicated and waiting for a visa number, and that it would be assigned to an officer in July.
I spoke to a very friendly TSC IO yesterday and she told me that although my case was pre-adjudicated and everything looked good, my case was not assigned a visa number, that all visa numbers were exhausted, and that new numbers would be released in October.
I don't think the IO was deliberately giving me wrong information.
Is it possible per-country limits were hit?
Anyway, whatever criteria they follow, their process is clear as mud:mad:

Is there anyway to know if visa number is assigned?

How can we know if visa number is assigned or not? What number can I call to find out?

khodalmd,

How do we know they given 25,000 numbers to pre-adjudicated cases?. Do you have any solid information, how the visa numbers were alloted in the last week of june and on july 1?. There is a rumor also that they assigned numbers to old cases stuck in name check. I feel that there are 300,000 name check cases pending with FBI, that includes naturalization applicants. If we take 50:50 for AOS and N400, there may be 150,000 485 cases stuck in name check. 25,000 is nothing compare to 150,000.

I (EB2-PD May 2004, 485RD June 2005) am also is confused situation. Missed the June VB just 40 days. I was preparing for a big change in July. I do not know, what is going on. Now it is a big silent. I do not know whether I am one of the lucky guy in the pool of 25,000, on the July 1 Drama. It is diffculit to know what is going on behind the screen. Called NSC yesterday. IO do not want to talk; asked me to initate SR. I did the same. I do not know whether they assigned number to my case or not. I do not know how to break the silence. So confused situation.

I totally agree with perm_lc

All peoples (including lawyers & media) are spreading rumors, confusion. All the 60,000 cases including those 25,000 got approved in 48 hours were pending for more than 6 months to few years. All these cases are processed, data entry completed, checked by officers and determined eligible for GC, during the processing period. It is called pre-adjudication. They have not done any processing in June. They just did the approvals only in June.

If they sort the pre-adjudicad 485s in excel sheet, it may not reqire 5 minitus to approve them in computer.

Alright, here is my $ 0.02:

One assumption could be that what they have approved or exhausted in June were all pre-adjudicated cases, as some of you have said.

Is it not possible that after the removal of state-wise PDs for labor certifications, the USCIS is trying to implement approval of I-485s based on PDs? So, even if an I-485 (EB2 India) was filed in Sept. 2005 with a PD of July 2004, who do you all think a visa number should be allotted in June 2007 if somebody else (with an EB2 - India PD of June 2003) stuck with BEC applies for I-140/I-485 in June 2007? Just want to hear what is fair from everybody with different PDs.

As far as the issue of 300,000 pending cases with FBI, realize that every year, over 500,000 GCs are issued by the US and over 90 percent of them become eligible after 5 years for naturalization. So, in my opinion, the majority of the 300,000 cases pending with the FBI could be the N400 applications and a small number of AOS applicants. Could somebody here please enlighten me some of the possible reasons for namecheck delay other than per-country limits and PDs?

Technically, they should go by PD to assign visa number and approve them based on PD. Other wise, there is no meaning for "priority date. For example, if a guy apply a 485 in june/july 2007 with PD in 1999, he shold be given preference compare to other folks with relativly new PD and old RD.

However, there is a limitation in this policy. If a guy files 485 in June 2007, his application will not get processed before sep 2007 to request visa number for him. 485 processing time is 6 months. As per current practice, there is a potential for loss of visa numbers. Instead of wasting visa number, it is better to give to already pre-adjudicated 485s. This is what USCIS is doing so far.

No one has confirmed news that how many visa numbers they have alloted on July 1. From the various tracking sources, I understand that the approval ration in just June 2007 for EB3 India/EB2 India was 5 to 6 ( I count 79 approval in EB3 India and 14 in EB2 India), The reason could be; not much approvable I 485s (whose PD is prior to April 2004) for EB2 India in June 2007.It is my assumption that around 1000 visas might be available in July 2007.

I think there are enough logic to believe that your case might have alloted visa number on July 1, if it clear with all background checks.

We have no option but to wait and watch. Good luck !!
