245i and needs to travel within the USA

Any suggestion would be helpfull , my friend is out of Status but filling LC which will take another 2 yrs before its approved and needs to travel with in the USA to NY during the Christmas for a family get together which is very important to him , he is a little concern about traveling (Air) since there is a high security check, he has nothing to worry about since he has a Valid DL but concern if he were asked any other question about his status etc .

Should he be worried ? he traveled in Aug and Oct of this year and he said everything was fine , but he heard something in the news about scaning some or everyone background to confirm if they are in status is that true , haven't heard anything of this sort.

let me know so he can proceed with his trip or should he cancel .

He can travel anywhere within the US territory

Hi...He can travel anyone within the United States territory (incl Alaska, Puerto Rico and Hawaii) as long as he has a valid driver's license...All he has to do is go through the TSA (security) and he will be fine. Make sure he has no metals on him including shoes and he will be fine....

Out of status.
No papers to show if any immigration officer or police intercept.
How you are going to get your GC with out status. Your friend may get bar upto 10 Years. 245i will not give any aid if you are not keeping your status valid until your GC get approved.
 
Yep, no problem to travel withing the US. I'm also out of status and traveled several times out of state. The DL is fine. Make sure he doesn't have metalic stuff on him, belt, cigarette lighter etc, so he won't be delayed at security check point. It's safe though, atleast till now........
