I just now callled BCIS and talked to Customer service Rep to verify the new address. While I asked how long is my case will take, she says it can take upto 24 months. I am already 19 months and heard about 20 - 21 months on the board. Now 24 months? Is there any basis or should we ignore this.

Thanx.

probashi,

When you say verify your new address was she able to confirm your address, I though they don't have any access to the applicants personal information.

No she said even if you have sent ar-11 you need to inform BCIS about the change of address. She took my new address and apparently put in the System. On asking she can give only an approximate time line i.e. upto 24 monts. I do not know why, she added the refugee I485 are getting approved quicker.

I also tried to verify my new address and she mentioned that she couldn't access my address. I don't know how probashi was able to do so......

Yes that is what I was told that it will take 4-6 weeks to process the same but as I had mentioned in my earlier post that someone from BCIS called me yesterday in the evening to confirm the address, she verified the current new address with me on the phone.

why we bother to call NCSC crap!!! Isn't there a direct 802 --- number for VSC. Can we not call them and talk with an IIO directly. Does anybody knows the exact number.

Hi guys,
Correct me If I am wrong. There is no written law/memo or anything that says we need to call for Change of Address. Only Naturalization applicants need to call. I think we are overdoing it..The form AR-11 is supposed to take care of it and if not it is BCIS fault. I have read that they were overwhelmed with all the AR-11 submitted and just stopped processing them.. God knows, maybe we need to VOLUNTEER and this one counts. In one of the Congress immigration bills a wise congressman suggested community service as a pre-requisite to legalisation, something like a month or two. I guess his grass needs cutting and this might qualify as community service!

what a journey and a welcome to the USA

I hope I would get my GC in 2003...

The next step is to question their Naturalisation requirements. All this time should count towards it, not to mention previous H1-B years. Let us push for the GC first.

I think concurrent filers are the most lucky people.

There is likelyhood that these people will have their I140 and I1485 approved at the same time.

I know people who have filed concurrently in late 2002 whose I140 would be approved any time now and the I485 will be approved by end of the year.

Both in a span of 1 year...

What a mess...

Why do you call it a MESS ? What is the problem if they get in 1 year or less.
IF IT is the case .. be happy.. that many will get approved by year end.

His background is BANKING so I guess he could not be able to answer any Immigration questions. Incidently, most of the new appointees come from the same..Watch for a new appointment for the Deputy DHS position who is responsible for BCIS coming up.

Tier 2 can see part of your application. Two weeks when I called them regarding a problem, she verified my address with me. Ask for immigration officer. They will put you to the Tier 2 person.
