22yo Living in the us for 11yrs options on legalizing??

hey all...

I am 22 years old I've been living in NY with my 18yo sister our mother for 11 years, my mother got married almost 5 years ago to a Green Card Holder
and hes been out of our home for about 2 years but they haven't divorced for the sake of her and my sister getting their Green Cards but a divorce is likely to happen because we cant wait any longer on a dirt bag that wont help or even pay his taxes my mom does......
now what options do we have? we couldn't go back to Brazil even if i wanted to my education here isn't valid there and i couldn't attend college, so i would be a nobody in my own country that i barely speak the language.

Now do i get married to a friend? who's 19 years old or is there any other way we can apply for a Green Card without risking having to leave ?

Well, if you are 22 yrs old you can make your own decision on this particular matter.

If you are getting married make sure it's for love. :) and no there is no other way to fix this unless there is a immigration reform and amnesty.

If the guy that your mom married is a green card holder it's gonna take a LONG time for her to get her greencard. After she gets her greencard she can apply for you but that process is gonna take a long time too. I might be wrong, but I thought that if you were getting your greencard through marriage with a greencard holder you couldn't stay in the country or work. I thought only people that married a USC could do that. If i'm right, that means that your mom shouldn't even be in the US.

Marying a 'friend' is not a solution, that's just lying to the system and bringing more problems to yourself and to the rest of people trying to get a greencard through marriage.

Spouses of LPR can stay in this country and work as long as they maintain their own legal status till their PD is current and I-485 is applied.
