221g::Principle's tax returns

Hi,
I went for H1B visa stamping in india , VO, asked the client letter,
photogarphs etc, I replied that i did not have these documents with me right now, then he asked about finacial documents of company , when i replied negative to this also. He gave me 221g asking

1)Principal's certified or notarized state and federal
tax returns for the last three years(2003,2004,2005)

Now I am confused if he asking for my last three years tax returns or he wants my client company's tax returns.As far as i could understand Principal
applicant means me but the context in which he was asking (the company's finacial documents) makes me worried.Any one out there pl help me to understand what exactly he wants? or is the interpretation of this is left to VO only??

If you worked in US, before going for visa stamping, then you have to produce your tax returns. You have to request IRS tfor that purpose take 3 to 4 weeks.
Read all the tick marks in the 221g form and produce all the documents requested.

Great guru thanks for the info, just for being clear, I never went to or worked in US. This is the first time i am trying to get H1B, so that mean's "Prncipal's tax returns" means my consulting company's tax returns? My confusion is also compounded because one of my friend got 221g from chennai like me he never worked in US, he has been asked to bring "Petitioner's tax returns" but in my case its "Prncipal's tax returns". Does that means in 221g "Petitioner"
and "Principal" means same ?? Pl help me out in this matter.
