221g ...h1 visa stamp..case??

I got a 221g form when I attended for my h1 visa stamp in mexico. I was told that the INS will respond back in 4-6 weeks....
I want to know ..how can I check the status of this online...I don't have my case number..how to get it?? I tried my EAC---- number checking the online stuts...but this did not work.

You can search for "Additional processing 221(g) <name of consulate where you attended the interview>" in Google and it should take you to the page that has a PDF files with the case numbers are entered.

Here is what I could find for Chennai consulate:

(Check the PDF file. Your consulate should hopefully have one)

Can anyone tell what will be the email address OR the name from the INS when we get any response from INS..What will appear in the from field in our inbox?? I was told that the INS will respond to my email address. I want to knwo the from address...so that I don't loose that mail in my bulkl folder.
