Hi All

Here is the 221-g successful story of my friend's.
Around 2 1/2 months back ,he first attended interview at consulate in india.
He never had h1 status before. Officer asked him to get more documents on

Inside outside photos of company
How many employees and their active projects
Employees w2 forms
Job duties/responsibilities for next 12 months , be sure to provide client contact details etc.

He visited consulate again with those documents . Officer checked every document especially education ceritifcate .He went inside to verify all those documents...... came back and told him to pay visa fees. :) :)

If you have received 221-g

1.You better to submit all the documents within 3 months .
2.If you got 221-g last year and revisting this year again , try to get 2004 w2 forms from your employer.
3. Donot loose your hope , Nowadays , most of new h1s getting 221-g.
4. Be patient and confident

Better Luck to everyone.

Finally , this forum is very helpful .

Pl Share your experiences ,would be helpful to others

Hi DavBaj,

Thanks a lot for the info. I have a cpl of Qs -
1. Which embassy was this?
2. Was your friend asked to provide the W2 forms for all the employees in the company?
3. Does your friend have a computer background or had a degree in another field and was transitioning to IT?
4. In my friend's case, interview coming up before the 31st of Jan, the employer hasn't filed for 2004 w2s yet...they have till 31st to file and the company might have this info only after the 31st. Was your friend specifically asked for 2004 w2s?
5. My friend's employer has provided the caompany's tax return details for 2004 as well as the company's 2004 profit and loss statement. Do u think these would be enough?

Thanks a lot for your help.

1. Chennai
2. Yes . all employees
3. Yes , He has computer background
4. Officer may ask for 2004 w2s , tell him that its going to take a while to get 2004 w2s. They didn't ask for 2004 w2s.
5. It would help , but if officer had asked to get you w2s , you better carry recent w2s . If its not too late , i would suggest you to wait till end of this month and take 2004 w2s .

Thanks for the quick reply DavBaj....I was wondering if providing all the W2s is practical...since a company may have 100-200 employees...
Does ur friend's company has less than 50 employees?

And thanks for bringing this up..my friend may have to deal with this 'coz I think he was asked to bring W2s, but he thought they just need a couple of W2s and thats what he has for this week's interview....I am not sure if other docs like the company's own tax returns and profit loss statement will be useful....

Any insights?

Providing 100-200 is not possible i think ,
yeah , my friend's company is less than 50 .
Just provide whatever documents they ask ,
I donot provide other than they ask .
