quick question:
I am going to India for my Visa Stamping (H-4 to H-1)
Due to some reason if I get 221(g) rejection, Can I withdraw my application?
If yes, how do I withdraw my application?
How soon can I get my original documents back?
After withdrawing the application (getting 221(g)) Can I re-enter US on Advance Payroll?

We are in a situation where we want to withdraw my husband's H1B application pending due to 221(g) processing. The immigration officer who interviewed him collected his passport and the issuance fee, and returned all the original documents back. It has been more than 3 weeks since we attended visa interview (jan 5, 2005) and the Consulate informed us that his visa is placed under clearance. He has valid AP that he can use to return back to US.
Can you shed some more light on why we cannot withdraw the application?
Can you tell me how we can go about requesting our passport to be mailed back to us? Should we send an email or visit the Consulate directly?
Would 221(g) be stamped in his passport and would that raise eyebrows during re-entry to US?
