Yes, I am back in the USA. I had the interview Tue (June 15), got the will call slip. Then I emailed Thu night. Around 3pm on Friday (18th), I got the email, picked up the passport on Monday (21st).
Hello tux78 congrats man and thanks for replying . During the interview date did consulate officer tell you how long it will take. Do you know what processing they did? Like PIMS, name check etc..
I would really appreciate if you can please send me the format of the email which you sent.
I am in similar situation and I am counting days...
They didn't tell me the exact date just said it should not take terribly long. Not sure, what they checked, I didn't ask.
I emailed vancouverNIV@state.gov with my reference number in the subject line and basically asked whether they can provide any update.
Btw, if you are looking for cheap accoomodation, I will recommend Patricia Inn near Chinatown, it is a 20/25 minute walk to the consulate and there is a bus that goes near by as well.
Visa interview: June 24th
Clearance recieved: July 13
Visa stamped and passport picked up: July 14
Recieved 221g with note that they will call
They say every case is different and can't predict how long it will take. It was not easy to stay without knowing how long it will take.
But fortunately my misery ended in 20 days.
Good luck and hope that everyone will get their visas soon.
