I received a 221(g) Application letter stated as " Need Additional Administrative Processing ". The Visa officer said, they dont need any more information from me and I dont have to do anything. He further said that After the processing is over, the US Consulate will get it touch with me. My passport was returned back to me, but my original experience letters .

My question is Does Calling up the consulate or mailing them will help any? If so Can anybody Please provide the Email Address and the Phone Numbers?

Guys who ever has been issued the same and got through successfully or did not or still waiting plz do write in your experiences

Thanks In advance

No it will not help. Most probably the consulate is awaiting information from Washington DC.

Thanks Triple Citizen for your comments

I would like to know is there any way I can contact the Office at Washington Dc? Will they provide any information on my Case status?

regards
Sandeep

As much as I would like to give you some good news, I honestly don't think you can do anything about it. I know it is easier said than done, but you only option is to be patient here. I wish you a quick and favourable resolution.

My case is similar to Sandeep. I am a DV2008 winner. I have been wiating for the clearance under administrative processing near about last 6 weeks.

Strage Experience and Hope for who stuck In AAP.

I was interviewed on December 2006 and after interview VO told me need AAP before issuing a visa which is done by DOS. So I think it will take max 2/3 weeks. But 1 months gone then I tried to call DOS and consulate twice/thrice a week and got the sweet …and frustrating word “Pending”. By this situation Eleven months gone but no result from consulate or DOS. I know how I pass that moment because I really don’t know how long they will take to complete my AAP. I really loose all my hope about visa. Hope who is suffered long long time like me will realize my situation. Anyway after a long long wait on November’07 Consulate called me to send my Passport and I drop my PP to consulate but amazingly after 3 days consulate return my passport without visa stamping and told me that they need further AAP.. That was really a frustrating situation for me. I lost all of my energy and hope, again I called to DOS and consulate but same result. Anyway on November 15th Consulate office called me to drop my passport again and after a long long wait I got my Visa at last.

So my opinion though I am not a lawyer but from my personal opinion that who is stuck for AAP they will definitely get visa if they don’t have any criminal or bad record.(maximum case done by 1 weeks to 2 months and some cases required one year or more like me)

my wife is in a similar situation.

She went for her H4 interview on 0ctober 10th, and the VO gave her the 221 form, but TOOK her passport. The VO said that the visa needs further administrative processing, and the consulate will contact my wife in 4-6 weeks.

We haven't heard anything yet (it is almost 8 weeks), and when my wife called them recently, she was informed that the AP is still pending. But we are really confused, since the VO took her passport, and the 221 form didn't have any tracking number.

I think patience is the only thing, but i just wanted to share the info with others.

Hi,

My husband went for H1B Visa stamping this September to Chennai and he got a 221g blue form. They said they will contact him back after administrative processing. Its been 3 months now and we have not heard anything back, can anyone tell how long will it take? Can we track somehow and estimate when we would hear back?Is there a minimum and maximum day limits for processing in such cases..? I am in USA already on H1 and am waiting for my husband to join me here.....If its going to take too long then I am planning to go back.Any suggestions or info regarding 221g pls.

Meanwhile just saw the threads posted in this forum, some said 20 months some said 15 days, am confused. My husband is applied through a consultancy which is good and has good clients.

Thanks.

Unfortunately that does nothing as far as background checks are concerned. I know it is easier said than done, but both you and your husband need to wait it out. I wish him a speedy resolution.

thanks tripleCitizen...

but is there any maximum no. of days for this verification.. and can we track his status from USCIS or DOS?? Can you please tell on an average how long may it take?

~thanks.

visa approved

My wife who went to the consulate on Oct 10th, finally received her H4 visa yesterday (December 11th). The passport was in the consulate for about 8 weeks.

We had called the consulate after 6 weeks, but we got the usual 'in process' reply. But after that, we didn't contact the consulate, and just waited. My wife had also got the 221(g) form during her initial visit.

I know it is very frustrating just waiting to hear from the consulate, but I don't think calling them will hasten the process. If everything is in order, the visa will most probably get approved, it is a matter of being patient (I understand it is a frustrating time, but we can't do anything else).

Good luck to all.

Aap

I had been through the Additional admin processing . It took almot 2 and half years , Dont scare , for most of the people it will take 6 months max , you really can not do anything in AAP issue . You just need to wait for the mail from consulate .. Pray GOD ..any questions mail me to hibujji at gmailcom
